- A fax from Billy to a reporter who dissed The Pumpkins

William Corgan is loved by million of fans around the world for his music and stance as the leader singer of the most listened-to alternative/rock band, The Smashing Pumpkins. Whether or not history will remember him as the bald guy with the whiny voice, or as a musical genius, Billy WILL be remembered. He is loved for being outspoken, articulate, smug, sarcastic and arrogant, yet he is also a God-like figure for millions who copy his dress sense and his mercurial presence. We all like our heros to be perfect, and most of the time, they're not, but it is refreshing to know that although media perceives Billy as tyrannical and arrogant, he loves his fans. And we love him.
 

While we are still reeling from the imminent break up of the band, I for one am looking forward to new projects that will be put forward by Billy. He has formed his own label, Constantinople Records, and is helping other well known artists with their work. He has indicted that he will continue to write and perform music, whether that will be for more soundtracks or solo albums, I don't know. I don't care what he does, just as long as he stays himself and puts out more music!
