Geno Lenardo was born on October 28, 1969. He attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, studying music production and engineering. He then began working as recording engineer. Geno wrote songs for Ministry, Sister Machine Gun and Chemlab. Geno was introduced to Filter through Brian Liesegang. He didn't participate in the recording of Filter's debut LP, Short Bus, in 1995.  But he did tour behind the LP. Geno contributed to the songwriting on Title of Record (1999). He co-wrote "It's Gonna Kill Me" and "Skinny" and played percussion on the LP.

Geno is married (sigh) and has a son. Little is known about his personal life. He has bleached blond hair and piercing blue eyes. He does stand up for himself, so it is not wise to get into a fight with him. This is illustrated in the story where a water bottle was thrown at him on stage. It hit Geno in his face and he jumped into the crowd to fight the offender who made a very hasty exit.

Other fans have said that annoying crowd members who try and stage dive usually get Geno's boot up their backsides!
