Merlin was the first pet that I had. I got him at the beginning of this year when I loved out of the uni college where I was living, and moved into a flat. I went shopping for a pet and saw this gorgeous guinea pig. It was Merlin, and he came up to me and nibbled on my fingers. I knew he was the one for me. Merlin was a good little boy, he would curl up and fall asleep on my lap, sing whenever I came into the room, put himself to bed and do little backflips. He was one in a million and when he died early March 2000, I was devastated. His spirit lives on, and his picture is on the wall in front of my desk.
