I sit here and try to ponder a life without The Pumpkins. It really troubles me that the band that meant more to me than anything, is no more. I know it sounds rather pathetic, but The Smashing Pumpkins gave me the courage to fight another day, and I guess the more I think about it, the less bleak things seem. The way I try to look at it is that The Pumpkins have the most staunch following. The mailing lists are full of very passionate and devoted fans, and I have seen many mailing lists for other bands, where people do nothing but bag their idols, bag each other and just turn the mailing lists into a huge bitch fight. Guess all us Pumpkinites are truly lucky, we have a legacy to continue.....
So what seems to be in store
for Pumpkins 2001 and beyond? Not really sure. Billy says he is going to
have a break from music for a year, and then reassess his situation. James
will probably continue his solo career, and Jimmy will race in NASCAR.
There have been unconfirmed rumours that Billy and Jimmy will be starting
another band. I hope these rumours are true.
With thanks to Netphoria,
